Qur’an 99:7

whoever has done an atom’s-weight of good will see it

“Say [Muḥammad]: My Lord has guided me to a straight path, an enduring code, the tradition of Abraham, a Ḥanīf*, who was not one to associate partners with God. Say: My prayers, my acts of devotion, my life, and my death are all for El’Lāh, Lord of all the realms. He has no partner. This is what I am commanded, and I am the first to submit.

— 6:161-163

Abraham was truly an example: devoutly obedient to God and Ḥanīf; who was not one to associate partners with God; he was thankful for the blessings of God who chose him and guided him to a straight path. We gave him blessings in this world, and he is among the righteous in the Hereafter. Then We revealed to you [Muḥammad], ‘Follow the the tradition of Abraham, a Ḥanīf, who was not one to associate partners with God.’”

— 16:120-123

Al-Ṭabarī: "In the language of the Arabs, the Hanīf is one who inclines away from polytheism towards faith in God. This describes Abraham, peace be upon him, who turned from polytheism to full confidence in God alone."

Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī describes Abraham as "the leader of the monotheists and a model for primordialists. He called people to recognise God’s sovereignty, reject polytheism, and adhere to His laws."

Exploring faith, reason and revelation in a non-judgmental space.

In a world of feel-good reminders, this is a small effort to advocate upholding the covenant, in a way that makes sense.

All sessions are entirely in English, no Arabic words are used. We read the Qurʾān in English.

The final Prophet Muḥammad said:

“I was given the ‘7’ in place of the Torah, the ‘100s’ in place of the Psalms, the ‘Repeated’ in place of the Gospel, and I was uniquely conferred the ‘Detailed’.”

— aṭ-Ṭabarani

Ziyad b. Labid relates: 'The Prophet mentioned something and said, "that shall be during times when knowledge shall be gone (and the religion corrupted)." I said: "Messenger of God, how shall knowledge dissipate when we read the Quran and make our children read it, and they shall make their children read it?!"

He replied: "Woe to you Ziyad, I thought you were the most intelligent man of Madinah! Do not these Jews and Christians read the Torah and Bible, but know actually little of what is in the two?!"
